This year A.R.T.S. is celebrating 10 years of bringing our mission of empowerment through the arts to pre-school, junior high and high school youth in Palatine and surrounding communities.
It all began with our first Mom and Young Child classes at WINGS and PHD. Although the faces of the people we serve have changed over the years, our commitment to engaging our clients in self-empowering experiences in the arts has not.

Thank you Daily Herald readers for this honor!
From Kim Stadler, Executive Director
“Springtime always gets people thinking about new beginnings. And lately my attention has been focused on the moms, young children and babies that we see in classes. There are many external needs that these at-risk moms and children have, but who addresses their internal needs? What do these babies need and what do their mothers need, aside from the obvious, to develop into healthy and happy children, youth and then adults? One of the best tools I can think of is the ARTS!”

We are so excited to announce that A.R.T.S. has begun to offer weekly group drumming classes to teen mothers as a special outreach to at-risk youth who are pregnant or who are already young mothers. Our classes began in January 2019 and are run in collaboration with Vanguard High School District 214 and St. Mary’s Services in efforts to provide a holistic way to help these youth cope with pregnancy and motherhood.
